A theme that I really like to explore is the feminine sensuality (in fact, just take a look in the archives of the blog to realize that). Show little, or not show anything, often says more than the immense waste of vulgar photos you see daily on the internet. Today I'm posting three pictures that just leave something to imagination.sexta-feira, 28 de maio de 2010

Como é Feito o Filme / How Film is Made

A narração está em alemão e as legendas em inglês. Infelizmente não há uma versão em português, mas vale a pena.
The documentary that I post today (through the links below) is nothing new on the internet, but it is very interesting and has direct relation to the matters contained in this blog. Extracted from Youtube, is a documentary from 1958 developed by Kodak, where the manufacturing process of photographic film is explained. The narration is in German and with English subtitles. Worth watching!Primeira parte / #1: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UJ6w1esVcoY

Algo de Mistério #2 / Something of a Mystery #2
In continuation to the first post of this series, today I upload three pictures of the photo essay I did with Fabiane and Karen. The last picture was taken with color film and converted to black & white in Photoshop.quarta-feira, 7 de abril de 2010
Túlio Viaro
The post today is dedicated to my friend and partner Tulio Viaro. The great merit of Tulio is not the fact of being the grandson of the great Italian-Brazilian artist Guido Viaro, but the talent he has with a movie camera. We are together on the project "Mullet Fishermen," each one with his camera, me with a photography photograph, and he with a movie camera. The result of this work can be seen from July, when it will launch the book and movie. Below you will find some pictures in "making off" style, all made with Nikon and Ilford film.sexta-feira, 2 de abril de 2010
Algo de Mistério... / Something of a Mystery
Nas fotos de hoje a modelo é a Fabiane.
This week I made a new nude photo essay with two friends: Karen Tortato and Fabiane Pellegrino. I made very aggressive pictures, even using two hearts of beef, and some masks. But there are also some soft pictures, like these two that I uploaded on the blog today. The essay was done with a Nikon FE analog camera, and Kodak color film (later I’ve converted to black & white) in a retirement building that belongs to my friend Tulio Viaro. In today’s picture the model is Fabiane.

Retratos / Portraits
Shooting people (portraits) is not easy. For spontaneous results, is essential that there is complicity between the photographer and the photographed person. Just recently I am dedicated to this kind of photography, but I believe that I have some good results. Today I upload two pictures that I love. The first is of my oldest son (it's an old picture), the second is my stepdaughter, and was made in this year.

Livros Novos / New Books
Eu sou um consumidor compulsivo. Adoro comprar!
I am a compulsive consumer. I love shopping! I think I not even have to take anti-depressants, because the act of buying seems to stabilize my serotonin levels. Today I went in FNAC and I bought two photography books. One is classic, Workers, of Sebastiao Salgado, with the Portuguese edition of Companhia das Letras. The other is a collection called "The New Erotic Photography," organized by Dian Hanson and Eric Kroll, published by the respected publishing house Taschen. Both are immense and surely I'll be happy for several days, seeing thousands of photographs of very good level. I think every photographer should set aside part of your daily time to look at pictures of other photographers, it enriches our criticism and, especially, our self-criticism. By my side, I don't spend a single day without seeing at least some 200 pictures. And that is a task tasty...
